Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vessels Info (the “Service Provider”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use the Vessels Info mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Account information: your name, email address, authentication credentials, email-verification status and account preferences.
- Subscription information: your subscription tier, entitlement status, purchase status and related transaction identifiers. Payment card details are processed by the applicable app store and are not received by us.
- Usage and product information: searches, filters, watchlist items, feature interactions and records you choose to save.
- Technical information: IP address, device and operating-system information, app version, request timestamps, session information and diagnostic or security logs.
- Communications: information you provide when contacting support or making a privacy request.
The Service does not request precise device location, contacts, microphone, camera or advertising ID permissions in its current configuration.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and manage accounts, authenticate users and verify email addresses;
- provide vessel, company, shipyard, watchlist and sanctions-screening features;
- manage subscriptions, restore purchases and provide plan entitlements;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and improve reliability;
- respond to support, privacy and account-deletion requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and service data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After an account-deletion request is completed, we delete or anonymise associated personal information unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until they are overwritten through normal backup cycles.
5. Security and International Transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate legal safeguards for international data transfers.
6. Children
The Service is intended for business and professional users and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or obtain a copy of your personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
You can stop future collection by uninstalling the application. Uninstalling does not delete an existing account or information already sent to the Service. To delete your account and associated data, use the deletion option in the application or follow the instructions on our Account Deletion page.
8. Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices or applicable requirements. The revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
