Port call history and port records

What a port call record shows

Each call in a vessel’s history carries:

• The port called at, with its UN/LOCODE where available
• Arrival and departure dates
• Time alongside — hours or days spent in port
• Whether the vessel is still in port, for the most recent call

History is listed newest-first and labelled as last known history, so a gap between calls reflects what has been reported rather than a guarantee of complete coverage.

Searching ports by name or UN/LOCODE

Ports can be looked up directly, either by name or by UN/LOCODE — the five-character code that identifies a port unambiguously when several share a name. Port records sit alongside vessel research rather than in a separate tool.

Reading a vessel’s voyage history

Port calls are one half of a vessel’s voyage picture; the other is its latest reported position, speed and course. See reported position and voyage information for how those fields are presented and what their limits are.
