VESSEL INFORMATION

What's in a vessel information record

A vessel record in Vessels Info collects identity, build, tonnage, flag and ownership information in one structured profile you can open on Android.

What a vessel record contains

Each vessel profile is organised into the same set of fields, so the same detail is in the same place from one vessel to the next.

Identity

Vessel name, IMO number and MMSI — the three ways a vessel can be looked up.

Build

Year built and the shipyard that delivered the hull, alongside construction detail.

Tonnage and capacity

Tonnage and capacity figures, with criteria for size and propulsion.

Flag and type

Flag state and vessel type, both of which also work as search filters.

Ownership

Owner and operator details, plus the company roles attached to the vessel.

Risk and sanctions fields

A risk status you can filter on, with deeper sanctions detail in the paid tiers.

How to look up a vessel

  1. Open search and enter a vessel name, IMO number or MMSI.
  2. Pick a vessel from the results, which show photos, flags, tonnage and ownership.
  3. Open the profile to read identity, dimensions, build information and ownership.
  4. Save it to Watchlist if you want to return to it later.

If you already have an IMO number to hand, see search by IMO number for what that identifier is and how it behaves.

Filtering a vessel list

Results can be narrowed before you open anything:

  • Status, vessel type and flag as quick filters
  • Size, capacity, construction and propulsion as detailed criteria
  • Risk status, for narrowing a list down on that basis

Risk and sanctions fields

A vessel record carries a risk status that search results can be filtered by, and the Plus and Pro subscriptions add deeper technical, ownership and sanctions detail. The app is a reference for those fields — it is not a compliance-screening service.

Vessel, company, ownership and sanctions information may come from public registers, licensed providers and other third-party sources. It is not guaranteed to be complete or current, it is not legal advice, and it must not be the sole basis for a compliance or commercial decision. See the terms for the full wording.

Where the data comes from

Records are compiled from public registers, licensed providers and other third-party maritime sources. Independent verification is still your responsibility where a decision depends on it.
